TERMINAL CREEK SALMON HATCHERY

Spring/Early Summer Update, 2008:

COHO BON VOYAGE

Coho Bon Voyage is a Partnership Program run by GVRD Parks and the Bowen Island Fish & Wildlife Club.

On Sunday June 8th young and old alike are invited to the Fish Hatchery, or the Lagoon at the Causeway, to help release juvenile salmon that were born at the hatchery this past January. Coho fry will be released into Terminal Creek from the hatchery, or into the Lagoon from the Fisheries and Oceans tank truck at the Causeway. These fry will live in our watershed for approximately a year before migrating to salt water.

Events at the Hatchery begin at 11 am and continue to 3 pm. There will be Hatchery tours and displays. The lagoon activities will begin at 1 pm and continue to 3 pm.
